Powdercap Strangler
- Scientific name: Dissoderma paradoxum
- UK/Eng Status: N/A
- Global IUCN: N/A
Habitat Observations
Appears to be associated with more neutral (to slightly acidic) semi-improved and unimproved grasslands. Where Earthy Powdercap (Cystoderma amianthinum) is present (obviously).
Notes
Rarely encountered so difficult to properly assess coincidence. Earthy Powercap is widespread in a range of habitats but i have only seen the parasite in CHEGD grasslands, Neutral/Acidic. The cap is greyish, arising from the orange stipe of the Powdercap, and easily mistaken for other non-CHEGD grassland species. More easily detected when appearing alongside non-infected Earthy Powdercap.
