Pink Waxcap

  • Scientific name: Porpolomopsis calyptriformis
  • UK/Eng Status: N/A
  • Global IUCN: Vulnerable

Habitat Observations

Appears to be associated with more neutral (to slightly acidic) semi-improved and unimproved grasslands.

Notes

Unmistakable in typical form. Bright pink cap with white stipe. The cap is typically pointed and splits as it opens while umbo remains pointed. Cap folds up and over in time but other species do similar and can be confused.
